Fit 4 Kids Story

The idea of Fit 4 Kids came when our co-founders Coach Cap and Coach John saw a need for more general fitness activities and options for children. Coach Cap previously ran fitness programs for children in South Florida before he moved to the Tampa Bay area. Coach John has been working in the children's enrichment space for the last 11 years. Both saw there were hardly any programs for kids ages 8-14 in the Tampa Bay area where they taught their students the basic fundamentals of exercise, fitness, and how to develop healthy lifelong habits.

There are many programs that focus on a specific sport such as soccer, gymnastics, baseball, cheerleading, etc., and even fitness activities such as Ninja Warrior gyms, Kid's CrossFit gyms. But there aren't many (if any) that go right to the schools and/or communities and teach kids the basics of how to exercise and live a healthy lifestyle. They also noticed that with most of the concepts that do touch on these subjects, many are only run in brick and mortar spaces that are not offered at a convenient location or time for busy parents who work and have other obligations.

As lifelong wellness enthusiasts with a fitness background, Coach Cap and Coach John felt compelled to do something about it. And that is when they teamed up and formed Fit 4 Kids! With Coach Cap's extensive fitness background and expertise working with kids and adults, and Coach John's background in working with and running children's programs and love for fitness, they have formed a great team with similar passions, goals, and a desire to teach the next generation the importance of living a healthy and active life!

What sets Fit 4 Kids apart is that instead of specializing in one sport or advanced exercise concepts, Fit 4 Kids programs focus on the basic fundamentals of general exercise and healthy habits, with the goal to slowly progress both beginner and experienced fitness enthusiasts to become the best versions of themselves, and instill the habits and importance of healthy and active lifestyles. Fit 4 Kids is a mobile company that brings fitness and wellness right to your child's school and/or convenient location in your community!

We can not wait to get started on this journey with your children and the families in the Tampa Bay community in forming a fitter and healthier future!

Let's get it!

OUR FOUNDERS

John Fontana is the Co-Founder of Fit 4 Kids. John's passion for exercise and fitness started young at age 15 when his parents got him a gym membership for his birthday. Ever since then, John has spent 5-6 days every week in the gym, taking group fitness classes, and participating in various fitness and wellness programs. John also has experience as a Personal Trainer at Crunch Fitness.

For the past 11 years, Coach John has been the owner-operator of another children's enrichment program called Bricks 4 Kidz. Bricks 4 Kidz teaches children ages 5-14 science, technology, engineering, math, the arts, teamwork, organization, and many other important life skills using LEGO bricks. Over the last 11 years, John and his Bricks 4 Kidz team have run after school programs, camps, workshops, team building activities, birthday parties, and field trips all over Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties, and currently runs programs in over 70 schools in the Greater Tampa Bay Area.

John's passion for working with kids also started at age 15, when he had his first job as a summer counselor at the Brandon Swim and Tennis Club, a job for which he worked at for 3 summers. This passion continued when he became a Big Brother in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay Program in 2011. In 2014, John started the Bricks 4 Kidz program in Tampa Bay, and has been a part of working with the children of the Greater Tampa Bay Area ever since.
